Sustainable tourism is a concept that covers the complete tourism experience, including concern for economic, social and environmental issues as well as attention to improving tourists' experiences and addressing the needs of host communities. While Traveling through the Amazon Region, there are many ways to give your trip an extra sustainable focus. You can stay at Eco lodges that practice sustainable policies, trying to conserve the natural environment, and employing local communities. Even better would be to combine your trip with a stay at, or a visit to Indigenous communities. Helping the local economy, but also conserving the traditional cultures. All the visits we organize to indigenous communities in the Amazon, include donations, to cover some of the basic needs.
Staying with traditional indigenous communities is not only sustainable, it is also an experience that is hard to beat. When you return home after a trip full of mysticism, you are sure to have a different perspective about material needs, and this will also facilitate options for positive and meaningful changes in your life.
Donations in the form of gifts are included when visiting indigenous communities. Most of the donations are used to cover some of the basic needs, and with your visit to one of the communities, you support our initiatives. Each year we sponsor the 'Jibaba Cup'; a sport event at a local indigenous community at the Cananari River, in the Vaupes jungle. During the event, we create an environment where we share knowledge, culture, and experiences. Each year make a donation to one of the participating communites, in the form of solar panels, to create sostainable access to electricity. Be part of the Jibaba Cup.
