The Amazon Region has a lot to offer when it comes to nature and adventure. Leticia is its capital and the main entry point for most Amazon tours, however, the region has much more to offer and discover. A huge diversity of flora and fauna, and of course the many birds which make Colombia famous. Adventure activities like jungle expeditions, kayaking, hiking, climbing rock mountains, or just go out at night to spot fauna. When you like nature and adventure, this region definitely can bring you to other levels.

Oldest mountain range in Latin America, of which only remains some impressive 'Tepuis' (jungle rocks), sticking out of the jungle. Most famous ones are found in the Chiribiquete National Park, but this area is closed for visitors. Anyway, in the departments of Caqueta and Vaupes, there are many other tepuis that can be visited. For example, the famous 'Cañon del Diablo' over the Caqueta River, or the tepuis on the Yari and Messay River. Others can be found in Vuapes, like Cerro Morocco, or the Cerros on the Cananri river. Bordering Brazil, in the northeastern part of the Colombian Amazon, is the department of Vaupés. For many years the indigenous people have lived in harmony with nature, obtaining from it all the wisdom and mysticism that surrounds this region.
If you want to see the typical fauna from the Amazon, best is going as remote possible, far away from people, and the indigenous communities. All over the Amazon, we offer expeditions with special focus on fauna, although some of the remote rivers in Caqueta and Vaupoes, have been experienced as 'hotspots' for wildlife, such as Jaguars, Tapirs, or other bigger animals. These expeditions are always custom made, and designed according the special requests of the travelers.
