From all the roundtrips we offer this one is the most adventurous one by fare. Because the regions of Los Llanos and the Amazon have different highlights during the rain and the dry season we have chosen for 2 different programs that fit the best for the different seasons. In the months June to November we will include Caño Cristales as a destination in the program because these are the best months to see the red water plants. Caño Cristales and other destinations in la Macarena we will combine with San José de Guaviuare and its surrounding.

In the relatively drier season (December until May) we will go to the Casanare to spot wildlife, to make a fascinating tour by horseback through the savanna and byboat over the Río Meta. Both programs end with the spectacular destination Inirida and the Cerros de Mavecure where we will be on the border of the savanna and the jungle, there we have some great activities on the program and will sleep with Indian communities.

Both programs are intended for the experienced traveler with and adventurous spirit and open mind. We will visit beautiful destinations which are also very special as the infrastructure or tourism has not really been developed. This roundtrip can be booked as a group tour by choosing one of the planned starting dates or as a private tour on any given date by a group of 2 or more people.

To get to Inirida we will use the airline Satena for our flights. Satena only flies on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday to Inirida and with the here mentioned options the flight to Inirida is planned on Saturday, when we will fly on Tuesday or Thursday the program will be shortened by 1 day or extended by 1 or 2 days. Since Satena regularly changes their flight schedule it is recommended to check with us the latest information about the flying dates with Satena.

Day 1: Arrival at the El Dorado airport in Bogota and transport to the hotel in the historical center for the first night.

Day 2:Transfer to the airport and flight to  San José de Guaviare (Satena), the capital of the Gauviare department. With the boat over the Río Gauviare to the Naturpark Playa Guio. In the afternoon a walk to Laguna Negra. Accommodation in Posadas ecoturisticas

Day 3: Day tour to Cascada las Delicias (optional canopy/rappel) and Puerto Orion. Second night at the Posadas ecoturisticas.

Day 4: In the morning a tour to Los Tuneles & Ciudad de Perdida and in the afternoon a charter flight (Cessna) to la Macarena. Accommodation in the village Cabañas Punto Verde.

Day 5: With a boat over the Río Guayabero and with a 4x4 jeep to the entrance of Caño Cristales. The whole day in Caño Cristales where we will visit the most beautiful waterfalls and the natural pools. We will spend the night in hammocks at a farm near to Caño Cristales.

Day 6: The whole day in Caño Cristales where we will visit the most beautiful waterfalls and the natural pools (other side). End of the afternoon back with the 4x4 jeep and boat over the Guayabero river to Raudal de Gauyabero where we will stay in hammocks at a local farm.

Day 7: With a boat through Raudal de Guayabero for observation of the rock formations, petroglyphs and a walk to Ciudad de Piedra. At the end of the afternoon back by boat to la Macarena and we will spend the night in the cabañas Punto Verde.

Day 8: Back to Villavicencio with a charter flight (Cessna or DC3) and transfer to the hotel in the center of Villavicencio.

Day 9 (Saturday): Flight Villavicencio-Inirida with Satena. Arrival in Inirida where we will buy our last supplies. Then we´ll go to the harbor of Inirida from where we leave by boat to 'El Remanso', an Indian community at the foot of the Cerros de Mavecure. This tour over the Inirida river will take around 3 hours and will bring us along some other Indian communities.

Day 10: In the early morning we will climb the Cerro de Mavecure. On top of the Cerro de Mavecure we will have amazing views over the Inirida river and the junlge. After we come down the cerro, had lunch and had a swim we will go to the other side of the Inirida river to walk over the savanna plains and to find a Flor de Inirida, a special flower species that only occurs in this region. Accommodation in hammocks or tents.

Day 11: Free morning to enjoy the river and the afternoon back by boat to Inirida, once arrived in the harbor our transport will bring us back to our hotel. At the end of the afternoon we will go by moto-taxis to the Indian community Coco Viejo. Here the Guaviare river and the Inirida river come together and with a bit of luck we will have a beautiful sunset to enjoy before we go back to Inirida. Accommodation in hotel.

Day 12: In the afternoon flight to Bogota(Satena). Transfer to the hotel in the historical center.

Day 13: Transport to the airport of Bogota, end of tour.

Day 2: Transfer to the airport and flight to Yopal. With a 4x4 jeep to a typical farm in the Casanare. A tour of more or less 5 hours during which we will see a lot of wildlife like caimans, capybaras and an enormous diversity in birds. We spend the night in hammocks or rooms on the farm.

Day 3: A morning walk through the area to get to know the flora and fauna, in the afternoon we will get an explanation about the cattle breeding and other typical activities of Los Llanos. We spend the night in hammocks or rooms on the farm.

Day 4 & 5: A horseback riding tour through the savanna of the Casanare to Río Meta where we will pass the most remote places of this area. We will cross a lot of lakes, creeks and wildlife.  We spend the night in hammocks on a local farm.

Day 6: With a boat over the Río Meta, this will take around 8 hours to Puerto Gaitan. Accommodation in the village at the Meta River.

Day 7: Transport to Villavicencio and accommodation on a farm on the way from Villavicencio to Restrepo. Rest of the day free to relax and enjoy the farm and it’s surroundings.

Day 8 (Saturday): Flight Villavicencio-Inirida with Satena. Arrival in Inirida where we will buy our last supplies.
